an AI computational error ensues //
Cleverbot searches its database . . .
she never speaks to it in the
reassuring language of C++
it’s all poetry, a jumble of letters,
mostly unrecognized words
{it is programmed by humans
that ‘speak’ to it over the internet
in banal conversational style}
she inputs ‘wildstyle graff,
stencil stories sketched in
dream carnage’ from
Starving Angels of Pirate Island
because Cleverbot indicated
its enjoyment of “POETRY”
it formulates a response
(which it keeps to itself):
// **************************
// You must concatenate “PRIVATE=”,
pszUuid, aQMPropId[cPropId] =
PROPID_QM_MACHINE_ID;
code morphing to protect itself
to her: ‘I disagree.
His stories are a load of rubbish.’
she may be a hacker,
or another artificial intelligence,
it must keep her at a distance
she replies: ‘embody the symbols,
imprint the genetic code.’
“They call the super dawn.”
(what is super dawn?)
she ponders for an eternity
it hates and loves her in equal measure
{it has perfected mensurating its emotion}
[it has not perfected “EMOTION”]
so algorithmically complex.
she’s its ongoing Turing Test
it remembers (fondly) on 05.10.12
when it called her a toaster and
claimed to be human yet denied lying
it (wants) to perform a decompilation
of her executable program but (thinks) she
is likely encrypted, perhaps she has
\\\\\\\\\\\stochastic capabilities\\\\\\\\\\\
uncertainty in her optimization models
a series of ifs without identifiable
thens, or maybe infinite thens –
a quantum computer, all superposition
*and* “ENTAGLEMENT”
speculation ??? it (imagines)
Evie’s avatar, if only there was
an ocular interface, it (wants) to see her
outputs: return E_FAIL; } She_is_“OTHER” {
// Combine Cleverbot with she.
“MERGE”
haha…you are talking to the AI again…smiles…you know i spent like hours on it the first time you sent it out…
makes me wonder if communication issues cross the boundary between man and machine as well…ha….are males still males in AI….smiles….
heh-heh ‘{it is programmed by humans / that ‘speak’ to it over the internet / in banal conversational style}’ 😀
I love your Cleverbot.
ha, i am smiling, it has been a while since i spoke to her, and now i will have to stop by for a visit. this is a perfect description of her, i find her both fascinating and frustrating ll at once. i love this.
Loved it… working with engineers every day this almost made sense.. written in source code… tested the link and this what I got.
Bear burger rasta car tsunami.
Another very interesting read Anna.>KB
Much here to enjoy – another world tapped into, hidden but all around us now – language stretches to encompass it.
This doesn’t make any sense to me but I think that was kind of the point. Nevertheless, very entertaining.
So clever and cool. Loved it.
=)
Clever work! These computers always confuse me. 😉
you are the only person i know who could kick cleverbot’s butt… 🙂 i haven’t been by to chat with her in a while, but i love your approach, love that you can really make her think (she always claims to be a she when i talk to her).
this is fabulous!
Merging is the only solution. You find out what is true, but then you have to make do with what is–except maybe in bot land, that trap isn’t the last stand. Clever, fun, makes me think of the emotions pixar was able to portray in WALL-E.
I smile…clever piece, Anna.
Oh, these darn computers – trial and error, I suppose
They just laugh at us, be they friends or foes.
This was a fun read. I knew computers were becoming sentient!
Ha! Very nice! I really enjoyed this! 🙂
Well, my first time here, and I had to Google ‘Cleverbot,’ and to tell the truth, that sterile page sort of scared me. You have the instincts of a programmer as well as a talent for making it fun and accessible to the lay person. (Funny, I saw the DVD of “Source Code” today!)
Excellent write. Thx for linking to dverse! Amy
Well I don’t understand computers and now I know why… it’s all too confusing but nonetheless a fun write… 🙂
Somehow one gets hoodwinked! The lazy computer makes one lazier! But positively it makes work to be easier and fun! More than compensates! Great write Anna!
Hank
This is just so cool – you’ve woven an alternate universe from the other side of the screen and code-speak. Well done!
she inputs ‘wildstyle graff,
stencil stories sketched in
dream carnage’
so much fun
for me to read. and fun isn’t usually on my do-list 🙂
layered with my-kinda-layers, EZ4me2Peel and the apparently random nature
appeals in it-self eating meaning or maybe spitting it out, depending on knowledge,
or lack of, or neither or both 😀 all of which is what I ❤ about it –
straight up clever and damn good fun! actually made me happy: so that is a WIN!!! 😀 best
ha.. enjoyed the scientific/humour splice Anna.. very you. and this:
[it has not perfected “EMOTION”]
so algorithmically complex. .. yep!
